close knit [community]

I apologize for my lack of posting lately, I have been balancing (or trying to balance, at least) school and work, the combination of which fills up my schedule pretty well. A lot of people ask me the question "How is Denver?" and I wish I had more time to give a full answer. As I've said before, Denver is my new normal, full of fun but also often full of the busyness and stress of life. I think I've enjoyed the community in Denver most of all, because the Summit Church does community really well. I cannot stress how much I love my family, but I also love that the Summit has become my family here in Denver. And the Summit also has really exciting news! We have quickly grown out of the space we've been meeting in and will soon be meeting in a new building in our neighborhood. Check out the website for the warehouse project and the video of the new space.

And in a completely unrelated side note... I realized that I never post my knitting projects, since I learned to knit this past Christmas. I'm particularly proud of this one because it is a lace pattern, which uses a larger variety of stitches than the basic knit and purl patterns. It's called fishtail lace, I'm assuming because of the repeating arches, and if you're a fellow knitter you can find the pattern here. I was just going to make it a normal scarf but midway through I decided that when I finished I would sew the ends together to make an infinity scarf. You could make this kind of scarf in the round too but you would have to adapt the pattern in order to do that.

I think my next project will be a pair of mittens... and honestly I haven't got the faintest clue as to how you make those, so we'll see how that goes.

I've also recently become semi-obsessed with instagr.am... its by far my favorite app on my phone.
