a DAM good time

I just saw that my last post was Nov. 1st... has it seriously been a month?! Sorry for the posting lag... I've successfully finished my first quarter of grad school and in doing so have neglected to do some other things in the time being.

I found these photos from when Helen, Shannon, Stephanie and I went to the Denver Art Museum a couple of weeks ago that I forgot to post. I've had the privilege of going to the DAM a couple of times this quarter, for fun and for school. For those of you who don't know, I'm getting a Master's degree in art history with a concentration in museum studies, so one of the classes that I took this quarter was about the art museum, and its different departments and functions. Until I interned at the NCMA last year I had no idea how many people it takes to run a large art museum and the class I took this quarter gave me an even deeper look into that. We got to talk to museum staff from most of the DAM's departments and visit the museum as a class a couple of times. It was a pretty fun class, but I am certainly ready for a break... grad school is no joke.

[And as for the title of this post... sorry but I couldn't help myself, the Denver Art Museum's abbreviated name lends itself to all kinds of amusing anecdotes]

Working hard on those post cards...

Educational activities at the DAM are enjoyed by people of all ages... including myself.

We went on a night that the DAM was having one of their Untitled events so they had a band performing

Sweet roommates, love y'all :)

I stole this last picture from Shannon... check out her post from our adventures at the art museum too!
