hit the road, jack

If you've been wondering about my lack of posting lately it's because my life has been crazy for the past 2 weeks. On July 1st my family and I loaded up all of my stuff and began the big move to Denver. Surprisingly the 23 hour drive wasn't as bad as a thought it would be, my sister and I came up with some games to occupy our time in the car. One thing we did was to write down the times we crossed a state line and what song we were listening to, here's our list:

  • Tennessee - July 1st, 6:02 pm (EST) - I and Love and You - the Avett Brothers
  • Kentucky - July 2nd, 9:10 am (CST) - Chicken Fried - Zac Brown Band
  • Illinois - July 2nd, 10:25 am (CST) - Valley of Tomorrow - Needtobreathe
  • Missouri - July 2nd, 1:30 pm (CST) - You've Got the Love - Florence + The Machine
  • Kansas - July 3rd, 7:08 am (CST) - Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Katherine McPhee
  • Colorado - July 3rd, 1:14 pm (CST) - Good Life - One Republic
We also made a list of all the states we saw license plates from and we got all but 5, which we thought was a pretty impressive accomplishment.

After moving me in to my new house we took a family vacation to San Francisco, CA and Yosemite National Park... pictures from that to come! But now I'm officially living in Denver and it's been pretty good so far, kind of overwhelming at times, but I'm learning to rejoice in the small victories, like getting to Target without getting lost. Life here will certainly not be perfect, but I'm excited to be in the place where God has called me to be with the people He has called me to do life with.
